Executive Board


Our Executive Board consists of six fertility physicians from across the country who are committed to standing up for their patients and the rights of anyone in this country who wants to be pregnant now or in the future.

They bring a wealth of expertise in the field of reproductive health and fertility access and are passionate about ensuring that all individuals have access to the care they need to build the families they want. Their vision and leadership have been instrumental in the creation and growth of Doctors For Fertility.

  • PRESIDENT

    Natalie Crawford, MD is co-founder of Fora Fertility, a boutique fertility practice in Austin, Texas and is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Women’s Health at the University of Texas Dell Medical School. Dr. Crawford completed her undergraduate education at Auburn University obtaining a degree in Nutrition Science, Medical School at University of Texas Medical Branch, Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Texas Southwestern, and her Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of North Carolina while concurrently obtaining a Master of Science in Clinical Research. She is passionate about educating and empowering women and promotes fertility awareness through her multiple social media platforms. Dr. Crawford is also a co-founder of Pinnacle: Women in Medicine, which promotes community and leadership for women.

    Dr. Crawford has been named to the “Top Doctors” and “Top Doctors for Women” by Austin Monthly every year since 2019. She won “Best Fertility Specialist in Austin” by the 2019 Austin Birth awards and was the recipient of the 2019 Hope Award for Social Influence by Resolve: The National Infertility Association. She was named one of Austin’s top 40 under 40 in 2020 for her work empowering women. She is married to Austin native Jason Crawford, and they have 2 young children. 

  • VICE PRESIDENT

    Serena H. Chen MD graduated from Brown University, and earned her MD at Duke University School of Medicine. She trained in Gynecology, Obstetrics, Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and now serves as Director for the Division of Reproductive Medicine at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, and the Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Science, as well as Clinical Associate Professor at Rutgers NJ Medical School and Rutgers RWJ Medical School. She has been voted a Top Doctor for many years in reproductive medicine by publications including US News and World Report, Inside Jersey Magazine, NJ Monthly and NY Magazine. She serves on the ASRM Technology Committee and is on the editorial staff of the ASRM journal, Fertility and Sterility, as an Interactive Associate. She is a founding member of the ASRM Social Media SIG and works to promote physician use of social media for awareness, patient education and advocacy. 

     

    Dr. Chen strongly supports her patients’ right to be informed and involved in their own care. She is passionate about access to treatment for infertility and fertility preservation for all. She is proud, honored and privileged to have played a role in obtaining better access to IVF and egg freezing for the people of NJ. She won the RESOLVE Hope Award for Advocacy in 2020 for this work.

     

    Dr Chen helped to found DoctorsforFertility.org – DFF – because access to IVF continues to be very poor in the United States, and is threatened by the current legal climate. DFF will be working to support the field of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) and all healthcare providers' ability to treat their patients safely and effectively. DFF will advocate, educate and lobby in order to protect access to IVF and access to reproductive healthcare so physicians in America can continue to help people that struggle with infertility build their families.   • DIRECTOR OF ADVOCACY

    Roohi Jeelani, MD, FACOG, is a double board certified Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility Specialist (REI). A graduate of Ross University School of Medicine, she completed both her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Wayne State University – Detroit Medical Center. During her medical training, Dr. Jeelani received numerous awards in the areas of fetal medicine and reproductive medicine. In addition, she has authored a variety of publications and book chapters in well known journals highlighting cutting-edge REI advancement and has presented at national/international conferences and symposiums focused on advancements in women’s health. Dr. Jeelani is an active member of many medical associations. A highly-skilled reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist focusing on all areas of reproductive health, Dr. Jeelani has a special interest in oncofertility, toxins’ impact on reproductive function, chemotherapy, and oocyte cryopreservation.

  • SECRETARY

    Dr. Lucky Sekhon is a board certified reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist and obstetrician and gynecologist who cares for patients at RMA of New York. She is an assistant clinical professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and a fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She specializes in diagnosing and treating reproductive issues and has particular expertise in fertility preservation (egg freezing), LGBTQ family building, and in vitro fertilization with preimplantation genetic testing of embryos. She also uses minimally invasive techniques such as laparoscopy and hysteroscopy to treat a variety of surgical conditions including endometriosis and uterine factor infertility.

  • TREASURER

    Dr. Gustin is a board certified Reproductive Endocrinologist. A native Nebraskan, born and raised in Lincoln, Dr. Gustin attended the University of Nebraska — Lincoln for her undergraduate education. Recognized for her outstanding scholarship, leadership and service, Dr. Gustin was inducted into the Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society, and graduated with high honors. Thereafter, Dr. Gustin moved to Washington, DC, where she attended medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine. She graduated Cum Laude and was admitted to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical Society. For residency, Dr. Gustin switched coasts to train in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford University Hospital. She then remained at Stanford to complete her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

    While in her residency and fellowship, Dr. Gustin was awarded the prestigious Arnold P. Gold Foundation in Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award. She served as the faculty mentor for the Stanford OBGYN residency class of 2016, and was recognized for her commitment to education and mentoring throughout her training. With regards to her research efforts, Dr. Gustin has published or presented on topics throughout the field of Reproductive Endocrinology, including ethnic differences in fertility and reproduction, embryo transfer technique and timing, recurrent pregnancy loss, ectopic pregnancy, and primary ovarian insufficiency. She holds a Faculty appointment at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Gustin has a special interest in recurrent pregnancy loss and reproductive genetics. Additionally, Dr. Gustin is able to provide minimally invasive treatment of endometriosis and fibroids, utilizing the da Vinci robotic surgical system for complex minimally invasive procedures. Her practice at Heartland covers all aspects of infertility, including fertility sparing surgery and assisted reproduction. Dr. Gustin met her husband, Dr. Zachary Gustin, in medical school, and together they are the proud parents of two young daughters and one son. She loves spending time with her friends and family, traveling, and staying active throughout the year. She speaks Spanish, conversationally.

  • DIRECTOR OF OUTREACH

    Lora Shahine, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., joined Pacific NW Fertility after completing her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Stanford University. During her time at Stanford, Dr. Shahine served as a Clinical Instructor in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, contributed several research publications in women’s health and infertility, and trained in one of the few Centers for Recurrent Pregnancy Loss in the United States. “When I established my practice in Seattle, I quickly realized that there were very few health care providers who saw patients for recurrent pregnancy loss in the Pacific Northwest. One of the missions of the Center for Recurrent Pregnancy Loss at PNWF is to increase awareness regarding this important issue to health care providers and patients alike. We accomplish this goal with educational lectures, peer-reviewed research, and other forms of outreach.” Dr. Shahine is board certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility as well as Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a fellow in The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of The American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), The Washington State Obstetrical Association, The Seattle Gynecology Society, and The Pacific Coast Reproductive Society.

Our Advisory Board members have been hand-selected to help support and grow the organization. They are experts in their respective fields and share our commitment to reproductive rights and access to fertility treatments. They work tirelessly to support the issue of reproductive rights and access to fertility treatments, and their guidance and support have been invaluable to our work.

Together, our Executive Board and Advisory Board are dedicated to advocating for reproductive rights and improving fertility access for all.   • Dr. Abigail Ariel Delaney, MD, is a highly experienced and dedicated healthcare provider with 14 years of experience in the field of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology. She is currently practicing in Elkhorn, NE, and has an additional office in Fremont, NE, providing exceptional care to her patients.

    Dr. Delaney received her medical degree from the esteemed University of Nebraska Medical Center. Following her medical education, she continued her training at the same institution by completing her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. To further specialize in her field, Dr. Delaney pursued a Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the renowned Mayo Clinic.

    Dr. Delaney is board-certified in both Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility. Her extensive experience and commitment to staying current with the latest advances in her field make her a sought-after physician in her area of expertise.

    With her compassionate approach and dedication to providing the highest quality care, Dr. Abigail Ariel Delaney, MD, has made a positive impact on the lives of numerous patients, helping them navigate their reproductive health and fertility journeys.

  • Dr. Faisal Shah, MD, is a distinguished diagnostic radiology specialist with a wealth of experience in his field. He currently practices at Olean Sleep Disorders Lab in Olean, NY, and is affiliated with Monmouth Medical Center and University Hospital.

    Dr. Shah began his educational journey by attending the State University of New York, where he completed his undergraduate studies in 1997. He then went on to Wayne State University, where he furthered his undergraduate education and graduated in 1999. Dr. Shah earned his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine in 2005.

    Following medical school, Dr. Shah completed his internship at Monmouth Medical Center in 2006. He later pursued a fellowship in Diagnostic Radiology at Maimonides Medical Center, where he gained valuable expertise and experience in his field of specialization.

    Dr. Shah is board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology, ensuring that he is well-qualified to provide the highest level of care to his patients. He also accepts multiple insurance plans, making his services accessible to a wide range of individuals.

    With his extensive knowledge, commitment to excellence, and passion for providing top-quality care, Dr. Faisal Shah has earned a reputation as a trusted and dedicated diagnostic radiology specialist.

  • Dr. J. Preston Parry is a renowned reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist with a wealth of experience and knowledge. After serving for six years as the chief of reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Dr. Parry founded Positive Steps Fertility. His practice is dedicated to providing personalized, empathetic, and successful care to help build families in Mississippi and the surrounding areas.

    Dr. Parry's extensive educational background includes completing his medical degree at New York Medical College, School of Medicine. He then went on to complete a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Tufts Medical Center. Dr. Parry also holds an MPH in sociomedical sciences (research track) from Columbia University's School of Public Health and completed a postbaccalaureate premedical program at Columbia University's School of General Studies. Furthermore, Dr. Parry graduated from Cornell University's School of Arts and Sciences with a triple major in chemistry, history, and biology.

    In addition to his impressive academic background, Dr. Parry is licensed and certified to practice medicine in multiple states, including New York, California, Illinois, Tennessee, and Mississippi. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and holds a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Subspecialty Certification. Dr. Parry is also a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners.

    With his extensive expertise and unwavering commitment to providing the highest quality of care, Dr. J. Preston Parry has earned a reputation as a trusted and compassionate fertility specialist, helping countless families achieve their dreams of parenthood.

  • Dr. Blake Evans is a highly skilled and compassionate physician specializing in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility. He is currently licensed to practice medicine in Oklahoma. Dr. Evans is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in both of his specialties.

    Dr. Evans began his educational journey by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology from Oklahoma State University in 2009. He then went on to obtain his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa, OK, in 2013. Following his medical degree, Dr. Evans completed a Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Oklahoma State University Medical Center from 2013 to 2017.

    Eager to further refine his skills and knowledge, Dr. Evans pursued a Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the prestigious National Institutes of Health from 2017 to 2020. During this time, he developed a keen interest in multiple gestation risk reduction with ovarian stimulation, male infertility, and in vitro fertilization (IVF).

    Dr. Blake Evans is committed to providing his patients with the highest quality care while staying at the forefront of advancements in his field. His dedication to research and continuous learning ensures that he remains an expert in his areas of specialization, offering the latest evidence-based treatments to help patients achieve their family-building goals.

  • Dr. Julian Escobar is board certified in both Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility and Obstetrics & Gynecology. After attending high school in the DFW, he graduated with high honors in Genetics from the University of Georgia and was subsequently awarded prestigious research fellowships at the National Institutes of Health and Harvard Medical School. He then obtained his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his OBGYN residency at Northwestern University in Chicago. He later relocated back to Dallas to pursue fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

    Dr. Escobar has conducted research in various areas of reproduction, including decreased ovarian reserve, hormone production in pregnancy, polycystic ovarian syndrome, assisted reproductive technologies, and reproductive surgical techniques. He has presented his findings at national scientific meetings and in prominent peer-reviewed journals.

    Dr. Escobar has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery and reproductive microsurgical technique for tubal ligation reversal and outpatient correction of abnormalities of the uterus, tubes and ovaries. He also specializes in all aspect of assisted reproductive technologies.

    Dr. Escobar has been awarded the Rising Star Award by Texas Monthly Magazine, and selected as a Best Doctor in Infertility by Dallas Magazine. He has lived in several Latin American countries and is completely fluent in Spanish.

  • After graduating from the Wharton School and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Dr. Sable trained in obstetrics and gynecology at New York Hospital - Cornell Medical Center, and in reproductive endocrinology at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. He co-founded and served as director of the Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Science at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in New Jersey, was founder of Assisted Reproductive Medical Technologies, which was acquired by Saint Barnabas in 1999, and co-founder of Reprogenetics, acquired by Cooper Surgical in 2015.

    Dr. Sable is an adjunct in the department of biology at Columbia University, and teaches “Entrepreneurship in Biotechnology” at Columbia’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. He has lectured on healthcare investing, policy, and biotechnology business development at the Wharton School, NYU, Rockefeller University and Rutgers; has delivered keynote addresses to the American Fertility Society, the Texas Fertility Society and the Mexican Fertility Society; and appeared on the CBS Morning News, ABC World News Tonight, NY1 News and PBS’ Nova to discuss innovation in reproductive medicine. He serves as a director for Celmatix, and Hamilton Thorne Ltd., is an advisor and board observer for TMRW Life Sciences, has served as a board member for Genenews Inc, Ohana Biosciences, MedAnswers, and for the nonprofit advocacy organization RESOLVE, and on the medical and scientific advisory boards of Ovascience, and Progyny. In addition to his academic publications, he has written for the Newark Star-Ledger, Yoga Journal, Xconomy, Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology News, The Timmerman Report, Life Science Leader, Wharton Magazine, and Forbes.

  • Dr. Kristen Cain is a board-certified Ob/Gyn and Reproductive Endocrinologist who has worked in infertility since completing her fellowship at UCLA in 1995. She was an Assistant Professor at SUNY Stony Brook, before moving on to help start a private practice in Long Island, which grew to the largest infertility practice on Long Island, and the third largest in New York state. She also developed the donor egg and fertility preservation programs while there, opening the first egg bank on Long Island. Dr. Cain moved back to her home state of Minnesota in 2012 to be closer to her family, and was one of three REI doctors serving the entire region of North Dakota, northern Minnesota and eastern Montana. While there, she became a women’s health advocate at the state and national level, working toward improving access to care for infertility patients. Dr. Cain graduated from Jamestown College in North Dakota, and completed medical school at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She completed an internship in Internal Medicine at UVA in Charlottesville, VA before returning to Johns Hopkins for her residency in Ob/Gyn.

  • Debbra A. Keegan, MD, FACOG, came to IRMS from IVF FLORIDA Reproductive Associates in 2010 and currently serves as the IRMS Chief Medical Officer.

    Dr. Keegan is board certified in reproductive endocrinology and general obstetrics and gynecology. She received her medical degree from NYU School of Medicine and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Bellevue Hospital / NYU Langone Medical Centers. Dr. Keegan completed her undergraduate work at Cornell University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development. She then earned a Master of Science in Biology from the NYU Graduate School of Arts and Science, where she studied the effects of maternal nutritional deprivation on pregnancy outcomes.Dr. Keegan has developed a special interest in LGBTQ family building. As a result of her work in this area, she was appointed to the RWJBH Steering Committee on LGBTQ Health. She is one of the first physicians in New Jersey to work with transgender youth and egg freezing as a means of fertility preservation. Dr. Keegan works closely with helping cancer patients with fertility preservation. In this capacity, she helps patients diagnosed with cancer understand their reproductive options and possibilities. She strongly feels this unique aspect of her expertise provides the important element of hope, in patients unexpectedly struck by the diagnosis of cancer. In addition to maintaining a busy clinical practice, Dr. Keegan actively teaches medical students and residents. She also oversees a community outreach program designed to bring an informal approach to sex education for middle school students.

    Dr. Keegan’s volunteer efforts include serving on the board of the Life is Great Global Foundation as Chief Development Officer. In this role, she participates in international medical missionary work by performing gynecologic surgery and cervical cancer screening in medically underserved areas. As a board member, she oversees networking and fundraising projects. She also served on the board of Embrace Kids Foundation. Embrace Kids exists to lighten the burden, maintain normalcy and improve the quality of life for families whose children are facing cancer, sickle cell and other serious health challenges.

    Dr. Keegan resides in Central New Jersey with her husband, three children and two dogs. She is an avid health and fitness promoter/participator, enjoys live music, cooking, traveling, and studies percussion.

  • Dr. Shefali Shastri, RMA New Jersey’s Clinical Director, and Physician Partner, is a longtime reproductive endocrinologist with RMA and has helped bring more than 2,000 babies into the world since joining the practice in 2009. She was initially inspired to pursue a career in women’s health and reproductive medicine by her mother, who practiced as an OB/GYN for over thirty years. Ultimately, the cutting-edge science and technology coupled with the strong physician-patient relationship compelled her to pursue a career in this field.

    Dr. Shastri is a board-certified Reproductive Endocrinologist, Obstetrician, and Gynecologist and holds a master’s in Physiology from Georgetown University. She earned her medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She completed her residency and fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical Center in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Center for Reproductive Medicine and Infertility. Dr. Shastri is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists and a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.

    As a physician in this field, Dr. Shastri believes everyone’s path is unique, and it is important to empower patients to make informed decisions that are right for them. She is passionate about entitling women to be proactive about their fertility and believes in providing her patients with thorough information and the most supportive clinical care. She feels honored to work at RMA New Jersey, where the entire team is deeply committed to science and innovation and is passionate about providing patients with excellent care and the best outcomes.

  • Shannon M. Clark, MD, MMS, FACOG is a double board certified ObGyn and Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist focusing on the care of persons with maternal and/or fetal complications of pregnancy. After finishing medical school at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Louisville, KY, Dr. Clark completed a residency in ObGyn at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. During her first year of residency, she realized her passion for taking care of individuals with complicated, or high-risk, pregnancies and subsequently pursued a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Masters in Medical Science at the University of Texas Medical Branch-Galveston, TX, where she is an Professor with roles as a clinician, researcher, and educator.

    Dr. Clark has taken a special interest in pregnancy after the age of 35, which according to age alone, is considered a high-risk pregnancy. She was inspired not only by the experiences of friends and patients, but by her own personal experience of trying to start a family at the age of 40. Dedicated to her education, training and career for 15+ years, Dr. Clark married at the age of 39 and started trying to start a family at age 40. After five failed cycles of IVF, she was able to become pregnant via egg donor and delivered twins Sydney Renée and Rémy Vaughn in September 2016.

  • Dr. Lowell Ku received his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science from Emory University. He then went on to get his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston where he also served as class president all four years.

    Dr. Ku completed training in both family medicine and obstetrics and gynecology at John Peter Smith Hospital where he was elected chief resident for both residencies. As an Ob-Gyn resident, Dr. Ku was awarded the prestigious Pritchard Prize Paper Award given by the Texas Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology for the best resident research.

    Dr. Ku was also honored with numerous recognitions including the Outstanding Medical Specialty Resident Award in 2004 and 2005. He also was honored by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists with an award for Special Excellence in Endoscopic Procedures.

    Dr. Ku went on to complete a three-year fellowship in the most established training program at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in the division of reproductive endocrinology and infertility. During his fellowship, Dr. Ku received numerous awards including the Outstanding Teaching Fellow Award in 2007 and 2008, as well as the best fellow research award.

  • Dr. Tameka Zore is a highly skilled and compassionate physician, board-certified in both Reproductive Endocrinology and Obstetrics & Gynecology. Raised in Indiana, she completed her undergraduate degree with honors at the University of Texas at Austin, where she was also recognized for her academic excellence and outstanding athletic achievements in Track and Field.

    After being awarded a full merit scholarship, Dr. Zore returned to her home state and graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine. She then went on to complete her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at St. Vincent Hospital. Following her residency, Dr. Zore pursued a fertility fellowship at UCLA, further specializing in her field.

    Upon completing her fellowship, Dr. Zore worked at Reproductive Medicine Associates of Southern California in Los Angeles. She has contributed to several peer-reviewed articles on topics such as PCOS and pre-implantation genetic testing of embryos.

    Dr. Zore is passionate about educating women about their reproductive health and fertility preservation, making her a valuable addition to the Spring Family. Her commitment to excellence and dedication to providing top-quality care ensures that she remains a trusted and respected physician in the field of reproductive endocrinology and obstetrics & gynecology.
